Epoxy Coated Steel Pipe represents a high-performance anti-corrosion pipeline product, engineered by applying a robust epoxy resin coating to the exterior and/or interior surfaces of carbon steel, seamless,or spiral welded steel pipes. This fusion of steel's structural integrity and epoxy's protective properties creates a durable solution for demanding fluid conveyance applications.
Manufactured primarily through the Fusion Bonded Epoxy(FBE)process, steel pipes are meticulously pre-treated by sandblasting to achieve a near-white surface(Sa2.5 grade)before being heated to 230–245°C.Epoxy powder is then electrostatically sprayed, instantly melting, flowing, and chemically cross-linking to form a continuous, tightly bonded, and impermeable film typically 300–600 microns thick. This thermoset coating delivers exceptional adhesion, hardness, and resistance to mechanical damage.
Its defining characteristics include superior chemical stability, effectively blocking corrosion from acids, alkalis, salts, and soil contaminants. The smooth,low-friction inner surface minimizes flow resistance, prevents scale buildup, and maintains high-purity delivery, making it fully compliant with drinking water standards. With a service temperature range of-40°C to 120°C and a design lifespan exceeding 50 years,it far outlasts traditional coated pipes.
Epoxy Coated Steel Pipe is widely applied in municipal water supply, wastewater disposal, oil and gas transmission, chemical processing, and mining industries. It accommodates diverse installation methods including welding, flanging, and threading, offering long-term reliability, reduced maintenance, and strong cost-effectiveness for critical infrastructure projects.
