
LSAW pipe,full name Longitudinally Submerged Arc Welded steel pipe,is a high-strength heavy-duty straight seam welded steel pipe manufactured by submerged arc welding process.Different from ordinary ERW pipes,LSAW pipes adopt thick steel plates as raw materials instead of steel coils.The steel plate is bent and formed into cylindrical shape,then both inner and outer weld seams are welded automatically under submerged arc flux layer,forming solid and reliable longitudinal welds.
The whole production procedure includes steel plate inspection,edge milling,pre-bending,forming,inner seam welding,outer seam welding,heat treatment,weld grinding,dimensional sizing,straightening,non-destructive flaw detection and hydraulic pressure test.The thick and compact weld structure possesses excellent mechanical performance,strong impact resistance and great structural stability.After comprehensive post-treatment,internal welding stress is fully released,which greatly improves overall toughness and anti-fatigue performance.
