
Spiral SAW Pipe(full name Spiral Submerged Arc Welded Pipe,also abbreviated as SSAW Pipe or HSAW Pipe)is a large-diameter steel pipe product formed by helically rolling hot-rolled steel strips and adopting double-sided submerged arc welding technology.It is one of the most widely used pipe types in long-distance fluid transmission and infrastructure engineering.
1.Manufacturing Process
Raw Material Preparation:High-quality hot-rolled steel coils(carbon steel or low-alloy high-strength steel)are used as raw materials,which undergo strict physical and chemical testing,uncoiling,leveling,and trimming before production.
Spiral Forming:The steel strip is continuously bent into a cylindrical tube blank at a specific forming angle(adjustable)through a forming mill.
Double-sided Submerged Arc Welding:Internal and external welding are simultaneously carried out under the protection of welding flux.The weld seam presents a continuous spiral shape,ensuring high strength and dense quality.
Testing&Finishing:The finished pipe undergoes hydrostatic testing,ultrasonic testing,radiographic testing,etc.It is then cut to fixed length,beveled,and optionally coated with anti-corrosion layers.
