Dished End

A dished end,also known as torispherical end or flanged and dished(F&D)end,is a common curved end closure for pressure vessels,storage tanks and cylindrical industrial containers.It is composed of a spherical crown,smooth transitional knuckle radius and straight welding flange.

With stable curved structure,the dished end can effectively bear internal pressure and is easy to weld with vessel shells.Compared with elliptical ends,it has simpler forming process and lower production cost.Although slight stress concentration exists at the knuckle area,it fully satisfies low and medium pressure working requirements.It is the most cost-effective end closure widely used in general industrial production.
